Most of the more commercial shopping can be done at the nearby marina, which offers plenty of restaurants, bars and shops, or alternatively there is also a weekly market in Turgutreis held each Saturday, selling tasty local produce.
If you wish to explore a bit further you can find some fantastic sites and interesting ancient ruins to visit in the Bodrum region, including the site of King Mausolous' Tomb, St. Peters Castle with its towers and dungeons, the Amphitheatre, and the underwater city of Mindos.
